Mandraki Harbour has been a significant port since ancient times, serving as the main harbour of Rhodes for over 2,000 years. Although the Colossus was destroyed by an earthquake in 226 BC, the harbour remains a symbol of Rhodes' maritime heritage. The medieval windmills and the Fort of St. Nicholas, built by the Knights of St. John in the 15th century, add to its historical charm.
